Making great progress. Here we are mocking up the rear subframe mounting.
I went down to Harbor Freight, and got 8 6-inch C clamps, which was just about enough.

1. Here is are the cut marks all marked out. The line across the spring bump stop is axle center line. |
|

2. All marked out from the back. |

3. The cuts mostly cut out. I used the sawzall for the areas that were boxed in after most of the cuts were made. |
|

4. I still get that butterfly feeling in my stomach when I cut into my nice car that I like.... |

5. Here is how my dad and I attached the tubes for the temporary set up mounts.. |
|

6. Here is the subframe. It is spaced 1 inch off the bottom of the car, which is how much it has to hang down for proper ride height. |

7. From the back. It is centered up using measurements, and lined up to axle centerline. |
|

8. Here is how it will sit in the car. It doesn't take up too much interior room, or trunk space. |

9. From the side. A little more cutting for frame clearance will follow, but it looks good. |
|

10. It may look intrusive, but it only sticks 2.5 inches into the flat truck floor area. |

11. From the front. It doesn't take too much interior space. |
|

12. A shot from above. I was going to do some image editing to show where the additional frame pieces were going to go, but not tonight. |

13. It only sits 2.5 inches above the old parcel shelf area. Not too bad. |
|

14. It may only stick 2.5 inches into the trunk, but it sticks 6.5 inches up in that area. |
Today felt good. It's one more step towards getting the wheels back on. If we keep this up, I will have to buy some wheels soon.
