I didn't get to work on the car too much this weekend, but I already had my wheel flares cut out, so I attached one.
I'm fairly happy with the outer rim since it's close enough to perfect I can use a light coat of body filler, but I am not all that happy with where it meets the body.

1. Here is the old mustang roof. The metal is just the right thickness to use on my flares. |
|

2. The first one I cut out with snips a bit large and planned to trim to fit nicely. |

3. The grinder was meant to fine tune, but I ended up using it to do all of my cuts later on. |
|

4. Here it is up against the car. There is too much of a gap near the front as you can see. |

5. I cut the second one out, and since I was happy with the fit, marked the third. |
|

6. Much better fit all around. |

7. In order to fit the front flares I had to put the sheet metal back on. |
|

8. Here you can see an initial mockup of an air damn that I was playing around with. |

9. Fine tuned a bit more, It's too long on the outside, but that is easy to trim. |
|

10. Tacked into place so it won't move around. |

11. Mostly welded all around but still rough. |
|

12. Here is the flare with the outer edge cleaned up a bit. |

13. Same with a slightly more profile angle. |
|

14. You can see that the edge is not perfect, but it pretty good and will only take a light skim of filler to fix. |

15. This is the area I am not as happy with. I need to figure out my welder settings a bit better so this is less of a mess. |
This is far from done, but makes a good update. I will be asking my dad for some welding pointers to make the other flares go more smoothly.
