This is the second installment of the shifter relocation work.
I have a couple of false starts, but I think it ends up working out alright.

1. Here is what I started with. I I get some more items later and don't end up using half of this stuff. |
|

2. At first I think I will cut the shifter off here, but first I will end up doing other modification work. |

3. This is the business end of the shifter. I won't be using it on this side. |
|

4. This much is coming off. |

5. Here it is with the end removed. |
|

6. What it looks like in the shifter housing. |

7. Full shifter with business end modified. |
|

8. I have to remove the outer vibration damper, so I start by cutting the top off. |

9. Here is what it looks like inside. That black stuff is rubber, for NVH reasons.. |
|

10. Clean inner shaft next to old outer housing. |

11. Shifter cut down with opieces to make the pivot location. |
|

12. Shifter bottom with the pivot point welded on. |

13. Actual shifter next to relocation lever. |
|

14. All done with the link shaft. The front lever will have to be modified for length and to mount my shift knob later. |
This all turned out reasonably well.
Next with luck will be the trans tunnel and floor so the seats can be mounted.
