The seats that I chose for my project are from an 80's BMW 3 series. They will fit, but will need some modification.

I needed to increase clearance underneath so they would sit lower in the car..

1. This bar on the bottom hits on the car frame. You can see where the frame touched by the rust spot.

2. First you have to take the bolts for the seat belts off, and pop the bar loose.

3. Here the bar is loose.

4. Here is the bar removed from the seat.

5. I have to make sure that the bar is the same length when I am done. 18 inces in this case.

6. Same bar after I cut it apart and rewelded it so there was more clearnace.

7. More detail after it was welded.

8. Frame cut for more clearance.

9. To cut down on the hard corners, it's cut at roughly a 45 on each side.

10. Fill plate of the same thickness as the tube.

11. Fill plate welded in. It was welded this way so as not to add any height.

12. Drivers side cut the same way.

13. Driver's side with fill plate welded in.

14. Seat with the bar back in. You can see the clearance gained by where the rust spot is.

I may still have to make more clearance underneath.

Hopefully not, but it may be done by removing the sliders.
