This has got to be the most awesome thing ever. In preparation to strengthen the frame to handle the new engine, I got the idea for, and my dad designed, and we built a rotisserie. I say we built because I held the pipes for him to cut and weld, did a little grinding, and some lifting.
Here is a little of the construction.

1. Here are the wheels getting welded on. I didn't take any earlier pictures. |

2. Another. |

3. All the wheels are on. They are 280 lb max load at 30psi. Maybe a little too lightweight for this application. |

4. The front mount going together. It is bolted to the front motor mounts. |

5. From the front. It will have a pipe mounted high on the vertical piece. |

6. Here you can see the rig, not quite finished. We change it so one bucket pivots. |
What follows is the putting of the car onto the rotisserie, and some spins.

1. Two could have done the job, but three of us lifted the front of the car into the front pivoting bucket. |

2. You can clearly see the underside of the car, and the front suspension. |

3. Time to move the rear closer to the rear bucket. |

4. Here we are, three reasonably strong, reasonably young men lifting a whole car. |

5. Where it sits before lifting. |

6. I ran off to get the hoist. |

7. Putting the legs in getting ready to lift. |

8. My dad lining it up getting ready to go. |

9. Here I am hooking it up. |

10. From left to right are my dad, me, and my friend Ken. Ken is a great guy. We had just got back and cleaned up a little from pulling an axle at a junk yard for use in this project. |

11. Ken and I talking about how cool the rotisserie is. |

12. Starting to lift. |

13. Getting ready to push it over into the rear bucket. |

14. Almost there. |

15. Ken and I line it up. |

16. Aaaand it's in!. |

17. Thar be a fully hanging midget. As you may have guessed, the rear pipe is mounted on the steel innards of a rubber bumper. |

18. Starting our first turn. |

19. Sort of a sideways "aerial" shot. |

20. Over she goes, and out stuff falls. |

21. Fully upside down. I am either surprised, or just always have this dumb look on my face. You decide. |

22. May as well go the rest of the way. |

23. Good shot of the rear leafspring suspension. |

24. Ayep, that was dang spiffy. |
Next, the rear axle comes off, and so does the front suspension. I have some spiffy stuff brewing there.
