To help get around the steering problem, I bought a top mount turbo manifold off of ebay.
Naturally something has to come off before something else can replace it.

1. Here's the manifold. It's for a t3/t4 turbo with an external wastegate. |
|

2. It's made from stainless steel, and I plan on getting it ceramic coated. |

3. Here's the turbo side of the engine with everything on it. |
|

4. With outlet tubing/hot pipe out of the way. |

5. I had to remove the outlet housing to get the heat shield off. |
|

6. Heatshield removed. Now I can get to the bolts. |

7. Something weird and broken made out of plastic and covered in oil inside the turbo outlet housing. |
|

8. Another shot. |

9. Turbo manifold with all the fasteners removed. |
|

10. The manifold removed. |

11. I'm going to stuff rags in there to keep the nasties out. |
|

12. Here's all the stuff that came off tonight. |

13. The backside of the turbo. The top angled lines are for coolant, and the lower two are for oil. |
|

14. Here's the manifold lightly put in place. |

15. From the top. |
|

16. None of it is lower than the level of the top right fitting from the previous picture. |
Next thing I do is put the air conditioning back on, and see how hard it will be to change the side the alternator is on.
