I found out when it was time to remove the engine from the car that the motor mounts that I had created hit on the transmission bellhousing.
Looks like I need to rip them out and start over.

1. These arms stick up too much and kind of grab the transmission. |
|

2. Here are the transmission mounts that also ended up having to go. |

3. This piece of metal kept grabbing the transmissionwhen taking it in and out. |
|

4. So I removed it since the firewall had to be reworked anyway. |

5. I plan on building the new floor out of the old floor, eventually. |
|

6. I bought some hole saws to make cutting the tube for the new mounts easier. |

7. I drilled a pilot hole first. |
|

8. Here's the neato hole all the way through the tube. |

9. And the plugs. I bet I can find a sue for these. |
|

10. Cut apart and some cleanup away from being ready. |

11. The two inch mount sits nicely ni the hole cut with a two inch hole saw. |
|

12. I then had to cut the old mounts apart. |

13. It went fairly smoothly. |
|

14. Back to basics. |

15. Mounts welded to tubes. I left them long so I could trim properly when I was at the car. |
|

16. My welds have gotten better, but they could still improve. |
I feel like I've been fighting these mounts for quite a while. It's almost over.
