This weekend, I fitted the springs to the coilovers, coilovers to the car(one side), and cut the rear wheel opening(one side).
I ran into a snag on the coilovers, but it's repairable.

1. Here are the coilover shocks and springs. |
|

2. I got the springs on with help from my mom. I compressed the spring, and she slipped the top retainer on. |

3. This is my highly sophisticated circular cutting rig. |
|

4. I first marked the smaller circle, then realized it should be bigger to hit in the right spot in the front. |

5. First go with the plasma cutter. I didn't cut all the way through. |
|

6. You can see where I messed up a little bit. It will be fixed when we do the flares. |

7. I went ahead and cut the inner line out too, so I could cut the inner fender wells. |
|

8. It's hard to see, but that's the inner fender well between the pieces of metal. |

9. Cutting the opening this size met pretty much perfectly with the existing front opening. |
|

10. All that is left is cutting out the inner fender wells. |

11. Here is the piece that got cut off. |
|

12. And here is the opening. |

13. And a view from the front. |
|

14. Here are the coilovers mounted in place. |

15. And on to the snag. The front coilover is cocked to the side and hits the halfshaft. |
|

16. The upper mount got welded in without taking this spacer into account. |

17. So this is about 1/4 inch too far over. |
Only one coilover mount is wrong, so there's just one to cut off and re-weld.
Next weekend if I get time, I will do the other side.
