I'm getting close in my project to where I need the sheetmetal to fix various parts on the red car from the blue car.

Also, since the blue car is going to be cut up anyway, I figured that I could just get rid of the whole thing, and make there be one less thing junking up my parent's property.

1. First thing first. I had to drag it over near the house where the 220 cable would reach the cutter, and the cutter could reach the car.

2. I had some more things to remove, like the rear springs, some interior stuff, and as many of the hard lines as I could.

3. I used my dodge to pull it over with that rope. It was sitting on some wooden ramps.

4. This is the good side. I want that rocker panel, and the rear fender.

5. First I cut off the front inner fenders. Mini in the background belongs to my fiance Lori.

6. I also cut out some of the toe board. That way I can trim it up to what I need if I use it.

7. Another view. I had to cut away some of the suspension bracing, but it's not needed now anyway.

8. This was it for July 1, the first day. It was getting way too hot out to work. Plus I had to go into town anyway.

9. The next morning I started by doing away with the foot well areas.

10. And the passenger side floor. The toe board has a triangular boxed section, which was kind of a pain to cut out.

11. Here is what has been removed so far today. The inner wheel wells are elsewhere at the moment.

12. I was trying to figure out why my plasma cutter was cutting so crappily. The tip was worn out, and the electrode had melted down a bit.

13. Next I tackled the tunnel.

14. I think I cut it out fairly cleanly.

15. Here is the floor sans transmission tunnel.

16. Figuring out what to do next, I took a look at the area that was under the soft top rear seal.

17. Kinda nasty, but probably could have been fixable with out too many problems.

18. I cut out the driver's side floor next, but a little differently than the passenger side.

19. Because I wanted to keep it really straight, I left in this part of the toe board to help keep it in place till I was ready to remove it.

20. Next the parcel shelf. I tried cutting it out squarely at first, but there was a boxed section underneath.

21. It was getting too hot to work at this point, but I set my sights on the floor as the next target.

22. A shot of the front partly apart.

23. Lori came up with a great idea. It's too hot during the day? Work at night! My dad's Vette in the foreground.

24. Out with the floor.

25. Next the trunk floor.

26. Like the front toe board, behind the seats is a triangular boxed section. (PITA to cut)

27. Here is that enclosed section under the parcel shelf I mentioned before. It was where the axle bump stops met the body.

28. I cut along the rear spring mounting position, because I might want it for something in the future.

29. Next to go are the rear wheel wells.

30. What has changed in this picture? The front cowl is gone. Check that rust near the grounding clamp.

31. From the front. Got some shiny orbs from the flash that time.

32. And the other side is out.

33. That ends up July 2. I was tired, and ready for a shower and bed.

34. I went to the county fair in the morning, so the next time I got to work with the night of the 3rd.

35. Next to go was the trunk lid area. I might use the rear panel on my car since it has the chrome bumper mounting locations.

36. From the back.

37. Time to whip out the jack stands. I will soon have to be using a grinder to cut the bottom of the frame boxed sections.

38. Getting ready to cut the passenger side off.

39. Here it is mostly removed. What IS holding it on you may ask?

40. Hard to see, but the tubular jacking point is the culprit.

41. One side successfully removed.

42. Here's what's left of the passenger side of the car.

43. Next up, the driver's side.

44. From the rear.

45. Both sides off. Now all that is left to do is clean up.

46. Here's what's left of the rear half of the car.

47. The two frame pieces.

48. And the rest of the body..

I cleaned up the whole mess and found places to put it all away. Now I need to further separate the rocker from the inner sill, and so on, but that's for another day.
