Now for a midweek mini update.
I hurt my back the other day, so I have to only work for a short period, and watch what I do. I figure taking off the alternator won't take that long, and doesn't include any heavy lifting.

1. Heres the front of the engine. I will probably have to swap the side that the alternator is on. |
|

2. It sticks out about 7 inches from the block. |

3. If I take too damn many pictures now, there's less chance I didn't take enough later. |
|

4. Just making sure I know how the brackets go on. |

5. Neat little braces and reinforcements everywhere. |
|

6. Off comes the tensioner. |

7. Then the alternator itself. |
|

8. Back of the alternator. |

9. More clearance. |
|

10. Here's where teh brackets used to bolt. |

11. All the stuff that came off. |
Next will be the motor mounts. Maybe another night this week. The more I've played with this engine the more I've come to respect the japanese. At first I was surprised to see serpentine style belts, that were short and didn't have tensioners. But the tensioning mechanism on these things is really trick.
