I was worried that the AC wouldn't fit.

Bob at Progressive Automotive suggested I run the framerails on the outside of the crossmember, so I decided to look and see if that would help.

1. Bing Bing! Looks like we have a winner

2. This shows you how much more clearance I really need.

3. It would just barely touch.

4. One more shot of almost touching-ness.

5. I've got the engine just about where I would want it side to side.

6. This is some junk I took off the other night. The harness and throttle cable are shot, but I need to use the throttle body to find a spacer that will fit so as to clear the suspension.

7. Alternator next to the power steering pump..

8. The alternator is going to have to go where the power steering pump once mounted. Custom bracket time.

So I'm grateful to Bob for looking at the pictures and making a suggestion.

Moving the frame rails out looks like a viable solution. Now to see if I have any more 2x2 and 2x3 tubing.
