I was worried that the AC wouldn't fit.
Bob at Progressive Automotive suggested I run the framerails on the outside of the crossmember, so I decided to look and see if that would help.

1. Bing Bing! Looks like we have a winner |
|

2. This shows you how much more clearance I really need. |

3. It would just barely touch. |
|

4. One more shot of almost touching-ness. |

5. I've got the engine just about where I would want it side to side. |
|

6. This is some junk I took off the other night. The harness and throttle cable are shot, but I need to use the throttle body to find a spacer that will fit so as to clear the suspension. |

7. Alternator next to the power steering pump.. |
|

8. The alternator is going to have to go where the power steering pump once mounted. Custom bracket time. |
So I'm grateful to Bob for looking at the pictures and making a suggestion.
Moving the frame rails out looks like a viable solution. Now to see if I have any more 2x2 and 2x3 tubing.
